Appointments

We have an appointment system for the medical practice but do keep some appointment times open for emergencies. Anyone who walks into our practice without an appointment will be triaged by our clinical team. However, this can result in long waits, we strongly recommend you make an appointment if possible. Everyone who has a GP appointment will be reminded the day before by SMS or phone.

Dr Ratnavalli is a fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners and has been working as a general practitioner in Bendigo for 18 years.

Prior to joining BCHS she had worked as a GP in outer Melbourne as well as in hospitals (Alice Springs, Townsville, and Horsham).

Her interest is in all areas of general practice, particularly prevention and chronic disease management.

She obtained her medical degree in Sri Lanka, where she worked before migrating to Australia.

Dr Haris Noor

Dr Haris obtained his medical degree from Monash University in 2012 and has worked in Bendigo and around the region since 2013. Prior to commencing his post-graduate specialist training in General Practice, he worked as a paediatric doctor at Bendigo Health and Monash Health for nearly two years whilst completing the Diploma in Child Health. He also practiced in emergency medicine and internal medicine at Bendigo Health and Dhelkaya Health, in addition to completing the Emergency Medicine Certificate through the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine. After completing specialist training in General Practice and gaining a Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2019, he later gained Rural Generalist qualification in 2025.

His special interests include skin cancer management, musculoskeletal medicine, paediatrics, sexual health, LGBTQIA+ health including gender medicine, and HIV medicine.

Semi-regularly, Dr Noor does locum work at rural and remote hospitals around Australia. In his spare time, he embraces his adventurous side to go off-roading, camping, hiking, paragliding, and archery.

Dr Jas Singh

Dr Jas is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, with over 10 years’ experience in general practice. He is a Principal GP Supervisor and the Clinical Lead at BCHS.

He has a keen interest in chronic disease management, particularly diabetes and heart disease. Dr Jas runs the community diabetes clinic in collaboration with a diabetes educator, providing comprehensive care and support to patients.

He is also a local Medical Educator with the RACGP with more than eight years of teaching experience and serves as Clinical Editor with Murray HealthPathways, contributing to clinical writing and the editing of local pathways.

Outside of work, Dr Jas enjoys photography, reading, and spending quality time with his family and friends.

Dr Gaurav Movalia

Dr Movalia is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and has worked across a range of clinical settings in Victoria and Western Australia. He has over 10 years of experience as a medical practitioner, including extensive experience overseas.

Dr Movalia enjoys all aspects of general practice and cares for patients across all age groups. His special interests include, but are not limited to, chronic disease management, skin cancer, men’s health, children’s health, and sexual health. He performs regular skin checks, skin cancer diagnosis, and skin cancer excisions, and is experienced in minor surgical procedures such as skin biopsies and Implanon insertion and removal.

Dr Movalia is multilingual and fluent in Gujarati and Hindi. Outside of work, he enjoys playing chess and spending quality time with his family and friends.

Dr Haling Bwar

Dr Hlaing is a GP Registrar in his fourth year of training, currently practising in Bendigo. He graduated with an MBBS from Myanmar and worked in a private hospital there before moving to Australia after successfully completing the Australian Medical Council examinations.

Dr Hlaing has also worked in Australian hospital settings and has a strong interest in chronic disease management, including diabetes, obesity and preventive health. He enjoys building long-term, patient-focused relationships and takes a thoughtful, personalised approach to care. He speaks English and Burmese.

Outside of work, he enjoys reading and spending time with his family.

Dr Mehwish Riaz

Dr Mehwish Riaz has worked in hospitals in Melbourne and Perth across various disciplines before choosing General Practice as her definite specialty. She is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She enjoys working as a primary care physician in rural Victoria where she is able to deliver comprehensive community-focused, continued care to her patients. Being a multilingual – in English, Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi enables her to have effective communication with patients from linguistically and culturally diverse backgrounds.

She has a special interest in child and adolescent health and has completed a post graduate diploma in Paediatrics through Sydney Child Health Program. Other areas of interest are women’s health, chronic disease management and mental health.

Outside of clinical practice, she loves travel and family time with her boys.

Dr Joshua was born in Burma and grew up in Thailand before moving to Canada, where he completed a Bachelor of Biochemistry at Trent University and a Master of Physiology at the University of Toronto. He later moved to Australia and graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery from James Cook University in 2020.

Joshua completed his internship and a year as a Resident Medical Officer at Townsville University Hospital, followed by a further year of residency training at Bendigo Health. He commenced General Practice training in early 2024 and is currently working towards Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

He enjoys all aspects of general practice, with particular interests in preventative health, chronic disease management, and refugee health. Joshua is a native speaker of Karen.

Dr Deleema is a GP Registrar with more than a decade of experience in medical practice and a passion for rural healthcare. Graduating from Southern India with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, Dr Deleema went on to complete extensive specialist training in Ophthalmology, teaching students and serving in rural and disadvantaged communities. After moving to Australia she joined Bendigo Health, gaining close to three years’ experience working across a range of areas including medical and surgical specialties.

Dr Deleema can communicate fluently with speakers of Malayalam, Hindi, Kannada and Tamil.

She enjoys the quiet and beautiful life in Bendigo with her family, with a love for martial arts, nature, gardening and reading.

GPs in our medical practice may be contacted during normal surgery hours. The reception staff will give the GP a message of your request and then inform you of the outcome.

Please make an appointment for your test results, unless your GP has stated they will phone you with the results.

We will send you a reminder for certain tests such as pap smears and immunisations.

We offer in person and telehealth appointments by appointment only.  We offer short (15 minute) and longer (30minute) appointments. If you require a longer appointment please advise our client services team.

We endeavour to accommodate your preference for doctor and time.

Telehealth

Telehealth appointments are available if you cannot attend in person and you have seen one of our GPs in person in the last 12 months.  We offer telephone appointments.   

Walk-Ins

We are an appointment only clinic.  Walk-ins will be triaged by our clinical team. 

Home Visits

Home visits are at the discretion of our general practitioners. Please discuss with your regular doctor

We are a fully bulk billing clinic for all Medicare card holders for eligible services.  

Fees may apply for non-eligible services.

A fee of $35 will be charged if you fail to attend your appointment or cancel less than two hours before your appointment.  

Please book an appointment to see your GP for a repeat prescription. Our medical practice recommends you allow yourself plenty of time to get a repeat prescription before your supply of medication runs out.

Please discuss with Client Services staff at reception if you have further questions. 

As a teaching clinic, Medical Students may attend your consultation for observation and to assist the GP. 

Please let client serves or your Doctor Know if you prefer the students not to attend your consultation.

Free parking is available in the carpark beside the building.

Our beautiful Eaglehawk Medical Practice features a comfortable waiting area with a children’s space, health information, reading material, bathrooms and large-screen TVs.

Disabled Access is via the main entrance of the building. The waiting room and consulting rooms have wheelchair and scooter access.

Please note we have Rodger Hearing System within our facilities. Please speak with client services access the T-Switch receiver.  

Interpreter services are free of charge. Our client services team can help you to coordinate this service. Please advise what language the interpreter needs to speak when arranging your appointment.

 

 

We send reminders of tests, reviews or immunisations which may be due. Please tell your doctor if you do not wish to receive them.
