“This award belongs to our staff and our community," declared CEO Mandy Hutchinson.
Amongst a passionate and dedicated field of finalists, Bendigo Community Health Services has won the Not-For-Profit category at the 2026 Bendigo Business Excellence Awards.
Announced at a gala ceremony last week, CEO Mandy Hutchinson said she was thrilled with the recognition.
“For more than 50 years, BCHS has been part of the Bendigo community, driven by a simple belief that everyone deserves access to health and care, regardless of their circumstances,” she said. “Today, our 300 incredible staff, Board and volunteers continue to uphold this vision with pride.
“I’m so proud of what we do, why we do it, and the community we are privileged to serve.
“Thank you to The Bendigo Advertiser for sponsoring our category, and to the Be.Bendigo team and the many volunteers who put an enormous amount of work into judging and delivering these awards.”
Mandy also thanked other organisations in the category, acknowledging the length all not-for-profits go to when it comes to the people they help.
“It was a privilege to stand alongside our fellow finalists – Arena Theatre Company, Bendigo Volunteer Resource Centre and Goldfields LLEN,” she said. “Not-for-profits run lean ships, make every dollar count, build partnerships and find creative ways to make a difference. I reckon we are all pretty great!”
With the awards over for another year, it’s time to get right back to what BCHS does best, Mandy said.
“I am so proud we’ve won. I’ll continue to be proud for some time I think, this award is proof of the impact the work our amazing staff is doing. Now, let’s get back to it and continue delivering exceptional services to our wonderful community.”
