Doctors in Secondary Schools

The Doctors in Secondary Schools program offers free, confidential GP and nurse appointments to students throughout the region.

"There is a lot going on for young people, sometimes it’s hard to make decisions. I have been able to learn some techniques to help me and have been able to be more positive."

The clinics are open one day each week during school terms for any student from the following schools:

  • Wedderburn College
  • Crusoe College
  • Eaglehawk Secondary College
  • Weeroona College Bendigo
  • St Arnaud Secondary College


The clinics cover:

  • General health
  • Mental health and wellbeing
  • Sexual health
  • Access to blood tests
  • Access to referrals
  • Someone to talk to about any health and wellbeing concern.

Appointments

All appointments are bulk billed and confidential; this means they’re free to access and that Bendigo Community Health Services follows strict privacy laws.

Make an appointment directly via the nurse on your school’s clinic day, or through your teacher/school.

Other Appointments

If your school is not part of the program, you can still see a doctor through our medical practice. We have bulk billing clinics in Bendigo and Kangaroo Flat.

We offer services for young people in mental health, sexual and reproductive health, and general health. Make an appointment online or call (03) 5406 1200.

headspace Bendigo supports young people aged between 12 and 25 from its Bendigo site at 78-80 Pall Mall. Call headspace on (03) 5406 1400 or visit the website.

Doctors In Secondary Schools is a partnership between Bendigo Community Health Services, Murray Primary Health Network and the Victorian Government’s Department of Education and Training.
