Bendigo Community Health Services will use a $7.3 million State Government grant to secure the future of healthcare in Eaglehawk.
Member for Bendigo West Maree Edwards announced the State Government grant today as part of a $16.4 million Regional Health Infrastructure Fund investment in the region.
BCHS CEO Gerard José said the grant would secure the future of the Seymoure Street site for decades.
"We are thrilled. This grant will allow us to create a more modern health facility that caters for our staff and the Eaglehawk community," he said.
"BCHS has been caring for the Eaglehawk community from our very foundation in 1974 and it's exciting we can now reward their incredible support through the years by delivering a far better health centre to cater for their needs."
Mr José said BCHS would now start the process of consulting with staff, partners and the community on redevelopment plans.
"A redeveloped Eaglehawk site will not only allow us to keep delivering quality medical practice, allied health and counselling services but give us the space to expand into new models of healthcare for the community," Mr José said.
