From May 28 to June 1 we’re hosting #5ways to wellbeing - five days of fun activities designed to remind the community why wellbeing is important.

Day 1: Take Notice
Monday, May 28
We want you to nominate someone making a positive impact on our city! It could be the person who cooks the BBQ at your children’s sport, goes out of their way to make the office happy or a neighbour who brings your bin in (when you forget). We’ll choose five winners to show #5ways people do something positive to make their community better. Oh, yes, each winner gets a great prize thanks to our brilliant sponsors in Hume and Iser Bendigo, Intersport Bicknells and Old Green Bean. So, who are you nominating?

Day 2: Give
Tuesday, May 29
It’s time for schools and workplaces to take centre stage for ‘Grati-Tuesday’. We want you to hold an event to educate students and staff on how to build good mental wellbeing.
Of course we’ll help you with the information you need. What type of event? Well, let your imagination go but make sure you let us know, share pics and most important have fun!

Day 3: Learn
Wednesday, May 30
We’re bringing the team from Smiling Mind to Bendigo to teach schools and workplaces how to build mindfulness to reduce stress and manage emotion in their environment. It’s all about helping minds thrive. The workplaces session runs from 10.15am to 12.30pm and schools from 1pm to 4.15pm.

Day 4: Connect
Thursday, May 31
Time to get a real taste for the #5ways message. If we need to bribe you to bribe people from your organisation to listen to the wellbeing message, well, here goes! We’ll be handing out yummy cookies carrying wellbeing messages to a range of community organisations. Would you like some?

Day 5: Be Active
Friday, June 1
Time for some fun !!!! Grab the kids for a FREE #5ways Kidz Party at our Kangaroo Flat site from 4pm to 6pm. There’ll be snakes and lizards to pat, a Magician, games, BCHS frog hunt, children’s entertainer, barbecue tea, AFL Central Victoria inflatable slide and a stretch/warm down session to calm everyone down at the end of the party.
