Very proud of our dedicated Family Day Care team for earning State Government recognition by ticking off all six health priority areas in the Achievement Program.
The Family Day Care team first signed up for the Achievement Program in 2015 and have completed their final priority - mental health and wellbeing.
“It has been a bit of a journey for our staff, educators and families participating in the Achievement program, firstly working through the sun protection and Healthy Eating benchmarks. As the years progressed and our workload permitted we continued working through the other benchmarks,'' said FDC senior co-ordinator Denise Flanagan.
"The service provides care for 250 children in the homes of our many Educators located across the City of Greater Bendigo and parts of the shire of Loddon. All educators continually practice SunSmart behaviours and many of our Educators have participated in the Mindfulness program over the years. We have recently joined the Be You Mental Health initiative to give Educators, staff and families the opportunity to participate.”
Well done FDC team. That is a wonderful achievement.
If your early learning service, school, business or community organisation would like to take part in the FREE Achievement Program please call our co-ordinators Siobhan Sullivan or Natalia Smith on 5406 1200 to get you underway.

Bendigo Community Health Services acknowledge we live, work and enjoy Dja Dja Wurrung and Taungurung country. We extend our appreciation to the Jaara and Taungurung peoples. We pay respect to Elders past and present for their continued holding of memories, traditions, culture and community aspirations.
We recognise sovereignty has never been ceded and express our sorrow for the personal, spiritual and cultural costs of colonisation and their lasting impact. May we walk forward together in harmony and the spirit of healing. It was and always will be Aboriginal land.
