School Readiness Program
Bendigo Community Health Services supports children, families and educators within kindergartens.
Our School Readiness Program team supports kindergarten educators and families to guide children’s growth and learning.
We deliver the program within kindergartens throughout the City of Greater Bendigo on behalf of the Department of Education and Training.
How we help
Our team of allied health professionals, including speech pathologists, occupational therapists and psychologists focus on three main areas:
- Communication (including language, literacy, and numeracy)
- Wellbeing (covering social, emotional, and executive function skills)
- Access, inclusion and participation.
"Thank so much for all your support this year. I really appreciate the clear communication and valuable sessions you have provided myself, my team and the children." – Kinder teacher
"It was a pleasure having you at our kinder and so wonderful to be able to converse with you and discuss our practice and the children in our care. We have all found the practical support so effective’. - Kinder teacher
Who we help
Our allied health professionals work in collaboration with educators and families to build on existing skills and improve outcomes for children that align with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework. The School Readiness Program is provided at a service level rather than to individual children and targets the three priority areas listed above.
Cost
This is a free program, funded by the Department of Education and Training.
